Álvaro Díaz del Río presents at Iberaqua the advances of Tedagua in the development of its own digital twin December 11, 2023
- Álvaro Díaz del Río, Head of Innovation at Tedagua, explained the work done in developing a proprietary digital twin to optimize the operation and maintenance of desalination plants.
- The reduction of energy consumption and the prediction of actions simulating scenarios to anticipate potential incidents are the main lines of work being developed to date, supported by the development of Artificial Intelligence algorithms based on existing data.
The Ilunion Pío XII Hotel in Madrid hosted the first edition of Iberaqua, the First Congress of the Industry and Water organized by the Tecnoaqua magazine and portal, an event that brought together different stakeholders in the water sector to share technologies and knowledge.
Under the motto 'Industry and Water: a binomial towards sustainability,' Tedagua actively participated alongside Álvaro Díaz del Río, the company's Head of Innovation, who, together with Francisco Carmona, Innovation Manager at Grand Thornton, delivered an interesting presentation as part of the roundtable discussion on "Treatment, operation, maintenance, and digitization of industrial processes."
Titled 'Developing a digital twin for desalination plants from scratch,' the presentation focused on explaining the efforts of Tedagua and Grant Thornton in gathering necessary data for the implementation of a digital twin that aids in the operation and maintenance of desalination plants, anticipating potential failures and developing patterns to optimize the performance of installations.
The two parameters currently at the center of the work are the reduction of energy consumption and the simulation of predictive maintenance actions. The presentation detailed the various phases of the project from a technical perspective, the challenges Tedagua and Grant Thornton have faced, and how these encountered difficulties have been addressed.
