Raúl Fernández, Director of Engineering at Tedagua, delivers a masterclass on desalination in Portugal
  • Raúl Fernández highlighted the importance of desalination as a sustainable solution for water scarcity in various regions of the world.
  • One of the key points of the talk was the presentation of Tedagua's latest innovation, containerized desalination plants.

At the recent Desalination Days organized by FUNDEC and held in Lisboa (Portugal), Raúl Fernández, Director of Engineering at Tedagua, delivered a masterclass focused on the technologies used in the current water market for conventional projects, as well as the latest developments by the company.

Raúl Fernández began his presentation by emphasizing the importance of desalination as a sustainable solution for water scarcity in various regions of the world. He detailed the most common technologies in the market, such as reverse osmosis, pretreatments, and remineralization, highlighting their advantages and challenges. Additionally, he shared success stories where Tedagua has implemented these technologies in large-scale projects, demonstrating their effectiveness and reliability, such as the Tuas III desalination plant (Singapore), the Doraleh desalination plant (Djibouti), and the Spence mine desalination plant (Chile).

One of the highlights of the talk was the presentation of one of Tedagua's most recent innovations, containerized desalination plants. This innovative containerized desalination system groups the latest technology in the minimumspace to address any situation, such as emergencies, droughts, or space problems where access to water is not possible. Thanks to its modular design, an ultra-compact plant is achieved with rapid implementation in the area where it is needed, which, combined with the proximity between components, improves operational efficiency, simplifies maintenance, and makes it an effective and flexible solution to address water challenges.

Raúl Fernández's masterclass not only provided a comprehensive overview of current and emerging technologies in the field of desalination but also inspired the professionals present to explore new possibilities and adopt innovative approaches in their own projects. His experience and knowledge left a lasting impression on all attendees, reaffirming Tedagua's leadership in the sector.
