Tedagua completes the installation of six desalination plants on the island of Fuerteventura

In September of last year, Tedagua was awarded a contract with the Local Government of the Fuerteventura Island, through the island's department of infrastructure, planning, roads and zoning, for the provision of six containerized treatment plants with a capacity of 1000 m3/day each.. Out of these six plants, two already became operational a few weeks ago in the city of Puerto del Rosario and two more in Corralejo, with the remaining two having been commissioned these past few days in Gran Tarajal.

The plants use reverse osmosis technology to generate drinking water by transforming the sea water. Their construction as a container makes them easy to transport and install, in addition to having a limited impact on the environment. After the delivery and commissioning of these plants, a three-year period of operation and maintenance begins under Tedagua's management.

The provision of these six plants fully guarantees the supply of drinking water to the entire Majorero population of the island of Fuerteventura, avoiding water supply problems in the area such as those experienced in early 2020.
