Tedagua and Tawzea have built a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 100,000 m3/day (expandable to 270,000 m³/day) in the city of Taif. In addition to its innovative design and incorporation of cutting-edge technologies, the project has gained strategic significance as the first facility to become operational under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, a vital plan for achieving Saudi Arabia's 2030 Agenda.
This is a strategic project in the region as it is the first wastewater treatment plant in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the BOOT (Build-Operate-Own-Transfer) modality to reach the operational phase without delays in the construction phase.
The project site includes a 21-hectare green space surrounding the plant to support the "Saudi Green Initiative" and contribute to Saudi Arabia's path towards achieving net-zero carbon emissions.
