Escombreras desalination plant
"With a current maximum output capacity of 63,000 m3/day of drinking water, it can be easily increased to 72,000 m3/day. The works include 51.3 Km of distribution pipelines in diameters ranging from 700 to 1,000 mm. Given the potentially significant variations in the quality of the raw water, this plant has one of the most stringent pretreatment processes implemented to date, comprised of coagulation-flocculation, dissolved air flotation (DAF), activated carbon filtering, disc filters and ultrafiltration. Its water output, which can supply over 300,000 inhabitants in 20 municipalities in the region, makes it one of the most important water supply facilities in the Murcia Region. "
