Water treatment plants and adduction between Agnita and Dumbrăveni
"In the Dumbrãveni region, the works consisted of the rehabilitation of eight wells, the replacement of the conveyance pipes between the wells and the plant, and the complete rehabilitation of the drinking water treatment plant of Dumbrãveni, with the purpose of achieving an average flow of 2,160 m3/day and a peak of 2,592 m3/day, adding a novel system for the elimination of excess iron and manganese. For the Agnita region, a new drinking water treatment plant with an average flow of 5,184 m3/day and a peak of 6,912 m3/day was built at the old facilities of the Arpasel drinking water treatment plant. In addition, a new 38.6 km pipeline was built out of HDPE and ductile cast iron in diameters ranging from 250 to 450 mm, between the treatment plant and Agnita’s regulating reservoir, supplying water to seven towns along the way. With the implementation of this contract, a clear improvement in the water treatment process was attained, improving the quality and efficiency of the treatment services by optimizing the capacity and performance of the entire system. From the outlook of how this benefited the population, the works had a direct impact on improving the quality of life and health for the inhabitants of the Agnita and Dumbrăveni regions, in Sibiu County."
