The desalination plant of Beni Saf opens its doors to bring the population closer to the water desalination process.
  • The plant, operated by Tedagua, is organizing an open-door event with various activities aimed at familiarizing the local population with the benefits of water production for human supply.
  • With a production capacity of up to 200,000 m3 per day, the plant contributes to alleviating water scarcity in the area, making it one of the most important desalination plants in the Mediterranean region. It has received several recognitions and quality certifications for its reliability in water production.

Between July 20th and 22nd, the desalination plant in Beni Saf, Algeria, is holding open days to showcase the efficient functioning of the facilities and the processes involved in producing drinkable water. Tedagua is leading the operation and maintenance of the plant under a concession agreement lasting twenty-five years.

This desalination facility is one of the most significant in the region, capable of producing up to 200,000 cubic meters per day to meet the water needs of one million inhabitants residing in the wilayas of Aïn Témouchent and Oran.

Tedagua's excellent work in managing and maintaining the facilities has resulted in the certification of the Integrated Management System (IMS) after successfully maintaining the ISO 9001 / ISO 45001 / ISO 50001 certifications for three more years, and obtaining a new ISO 140001 Certificate.

The event, organized by Beni Saf Water Company, offers all visitors the opportunity to understand the process of seawater desalination and the importance of not wasting water, which is becoming increasingly scarce in the area.

Moreover, various recreational activities such as a graffiti contest and a 3x3 basketball tournament will complement the open days, aiming to raise awareness among the population about the necessity of preserving such a crucial resource for the social and economic development of the region.
