Sewage is treated at Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP), where, once noxious substances have been eliminated, it is returned to bodies of water in optimal quality conditions, or it may be reused.

Regeneration

According to our laws, the concept of “direct reutilization” of water corresponds to “any water that, having been already used and before its restitution to public watercourses, is applied to other different, successive uses.” Therefore, this implies the use of treated water after having undergone a “regeneration” process.
